Fall 2015 Meeting, Friday, October 16

The Midwestern Art Cataloging Discussion Group (MACDG) Fall 2015 meeting will be held at the Art Institute of Chicago on Friday, October 16.

The schedule is as follows:

10:30-meet at the Modern Wing entrance (159 East Monroe Street, across from Millennium Park) to go to the Directors Conference Suite; food and coffee provided

Sarah Guernsey (Executive Director of Publishing, Art Institute of Chicago) presents on the Online Scholarly Catalogue Initiative (OSCI), followed by Q&A

Gary Strawn (Authorities Librarian, Northwestern University Library) speaks about preparing data for migration to a new ILS, followed by Q&A

Other agenda items (I am looking for a volunteer to host our next meeting and will add other items for discussion at your request (interesting projects at your library, round robin on RDA implementation, etc.))

12:30-Lunch (on your own)

2:00-Meet back at the Ryerson & Burnham Libraries to hear from Doug Litts (our new Library Director!) and Autumn Mather (Reader Services Librarian) about some highlights from our collection

3:00-Tour of Dionysos Unmasked: Ancient Sculpture and Early Prints, led by Jeff Nigro (Research Associate, Ancient and Byzantine Art, Art Institute of Chicago)

Anyone interested in art and architecture or visual resources cataloging is welcome to attend.
